"GROWING UP" AVAILABLE NOW!!!
A Note from josh...
When I recorded my first family record “Young Folk,” I wanted to create a musical love letter to my children and to families around the world. As I started writing for my second album, our family was going through a difficult season where I spent many months on the road away from home, our son started a new school, and many of our good friends moved away from Tennessee. This prompted our 5 year old son to start asking lots of questions about some of the feelings he was having. We had talks about what to do when you’re sad or scared, feeling bullied, and even some questions about death. It made me start thinking more about my own childhood and how my younger years made me into the grown-up I am today. That’s what this collection of songs is all about; reflection and honest conversation. There are songs for when you want to dance, songs for when you are feeling sad, songs about following your dreams and also songs about learning to say goodbye. Its about the human experience and our interaction with it, inspired by and created for the whole person, whether you are 5 or 85. There’s something for every member of the family and I sincerely hope people enjoy it and find some encouragement in it as well. We’re all in this together. -Josh
